We’re thrilled to have you join the community. As a housewarming gift, depending on the lot size and availability we are offering you either one tree or three shrubs—a thoughtful addition to help make your new place feel even more like home.

This gift is made possible through our partnership with Wheatland Trees and is based on the lot type of your home. Your builder will determine if your lot can accommodate a tree. If not, you’ll receive three beautiful shrubs instead—planted and fertilized for you by the nursery.

Wheatland Trees will take care of the delivery, planting, and fertilization.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPER

This promotion is our gift to you, on behalf of the community developer, Melcor Developments. If you've moved in and haven't received your tree or shrubs yet - don't hesitate to contact the nursery regarding their collection.

Tree and shrub availability is dependent on stock availability at the nursery. Call or visit the garden centre for more information.

PLANT CARE

After the delivery of your tree or shrubs, and upon completion of planting, it’s important to follow these steps to care for your new plants. For your tree or shrubs to grow and look their best:

For trees:

  • For the first two weeks, please water thoroughly each day
  • Continue watering 3–4x/week for another two weeks
  • After a month, the tree should be well established. Continue to water 2x/week to ensure strong and healthy growth

For shrubs:

  • Water daily for the first week after planting
  • Continue watering 2–3x/week for the next 3–4 weeks
  • Once established (after about a month), water 1–2x/week depending on rainfall and soil conditions
  • Shrubs may also benefit from a light layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds

Requirements

  • A lot grading certificate is required prior to the selection of a tree or shrubs
  • Trees and shrubs are for front yard landscaping only
  • Wheatland Trees is responsible for utility location prior to work

WARRANTY

All trees and shrubs are warranted until the end of the growing season. At that time, all plantings are inspected to ensure that specific standards are met for health and growth. If concerns arise at that time, a re-inspection date will be set for the following spring. If the tree or shrubs are deemed to be unhealthy by the re-inspection date, Wheatland Trees will replace them at no cost to the homeowner.

The warranty does not cover negligence. If a tree or shrubs are unhealthy due to lack of water or any other type of maltreatment, Wheatland Trees is not responsible for replacement.
